| Welcome
to Fort Lauderdale "The Yachting Capital of The World".
This might be a little bit of an exaggeration but it
certainly is a busy port.
Yachts of every description make it a regular stop
on their annual North/South migration to slap a few
coats of varnish on, do major refit work or just stock
up on supplies.
|
 |
| The houses are mostly
3 bedroom. They are rented out only to people in the
boating profession on a per bed per night basis.
Either way there is always plenty of work for the eager
Yachtie. There are over 10 major boatyards and marinas
and about 6 crew agencies within a 3 mile radius.
Daywork earns from $10 an hour for unskilled labor
to $25 for fairly skilled engineers
|
 |
| What to do with all
that hard earned money? The social life is hectic with
several Yachtie bars such as The Quarterdeck and Waxy's
as well as numerous night clubs and great restaurants.
Or... just hang on the beach!
